View More Branislav Gosovic, from Yugoslavia, holds a PhD in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. As a UN career official, starting in 1971, he worked in UNCTAD, UNEP and ECLAC, and, from 1985, on secondment in the World Commission on Environment and Development, then the South Commission, and finally the South Centre, from 1991-2006. His first monograph on South-North affairs dates back to 1968. It is based on UNCTAD II, held in New Delhi, which the author attended, an experience that led to his lifelong attachment to India and its people. He is the author of several books and of articles on development, environment-development, South-North relations, South-South cooperation, the United Nations, and Yugoslavia.
