About The Book A Thousand Splendid Suns Epz Ed paints a picture of Afghanistan filled with loss, love and bravery. It tells us the story through two women, Mariam and Laila, who happen to meet because of the battle waging in their homeland. Both women are noticeably different at heart and there is a considerable generation gap between the two of them. In A Thousand Splendid Suns Epz Ed, Khaled Hosseini shows you how the most contradictory people can be brought together when circumstances demand it. He takes it even further by showing you how this surprising connection between two people affects the following generations. Focusing on Afghan society, we see the role the Taliban played in disrupting people's lives in the region bringing out the best in some of them. The author brings out the virility that emerges from a woman when the lives of her family members are at stake. Hosseini shows you that just the remembrance of love can bring out the altruistic nature in a woman. A Thousand Splendid Suns was published in 2013 and is available in paperback. Key Features The book takes you into a land that has seen a lot of turbulence over the years, with this engaging and informative book. The book rose to the number one position in the fiction bestseller charts when it released. It also won the Book Sense book of the year award for fiction and the Richard and Judy Best Read of the Year in 2008.
