A young boy and man are transported to another country where they are given new names and estimated ages. Simon takes up a job and tries to trace for, the young boy, David's mother. Summary of the Book


A man and young boy have arrived to a new country where they are asked to learn Spanish to get accustomed to the culture and people. They are given new names and identities which they have to live with. Simon who is the elder one amongst the two, takes up a job and tries to look for, the little boy, David's mother, who is supposedly also on the island. Though David has no memory of how his mother looks, he believes he will recognize her when he see her.


Simon befriends a woman whom he believes to be David’s mother. The woman forms a motherly bond with the little boy. But soon the authorities want to send David off to another distant school for being a possessing a rebellious streak. Simon and the woman want to save David and flee from the place.
