Let me at the outset congratulate the author Dr. S.S. Chhina for writing this book on Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia. The younger generations will benefit immensely from reading such books on the lives of heroes of the freedom struggle. The sacrifices and sufferings of these freedom fighters, some known and vast number of unknown, under the unique leadership of Gandhiji, have contributed to the realization of the dream of independence of India. I would like to recommend this book for libraries, schools, colleges, universities, etc., so that it may be read by large number of people. Dr. Lohia was more concerned with economic prosperity of the country, social justice and moral values. As a Socialist, he wanted all distinctions between man and man, caste, class, creed, gender, etc. should go and every human being be treated as human being with all opportunity to live a life with honour.
