He has been the Coordinator of the University Grants Commission's Special Assistance Programme [DSA-III] and Chairman, Board of Studies in Economics. He has been teaching Econometrics at Post-Graduation level and guiding the research scholars in Economics. His Primary Field of Interest has been Applied Econometrics. His papers, published extensively in various academic journals have been cited in the international journals such as the American Economic Review (USA), Journal of Developing Areas (USA) Journal of Productivity Analysis (Netherlands), Applied Econometrics and International Development (Spain) Journal of Asia Business Studies (United Kingdom),Journal of Economics and Behavioral Studies (Dubai) and Empirical Economics (Austria). He is the author of the Marketable and Marketed Surplus in Agriculture, Estimates of Coefficients of Economic Relationships : Some Exercises for India and Applied Econometrics. The University Grants Commission (Government of India) New Delhi, has bestowed on him the University Grants Commission - Swamy Pranavananda Saraswati National Award in Economics for the year 2003 in recognition of his outstanding scholarly contribution in the field of Applied Econometrics.
