ASISH K. BHATTACHARYYA, D.Phil., is Professor, Finance and Control, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C). Prior to joining IIM-C, he was the Technical Director, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and a senior faculty member at the S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. Besides, he has about 20 years experience in the industry. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Professor Bhattacharyya is a member of the accounting committee of IRDA. He has authored several books, including Principles and Practice of Cost Accounting, published by Prentice-Hall of India.
