He is presently a Special Rapportuer of National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. Earlier he was S.K. Dey Chair Professor, retired as Professor from A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna. He was a scientist and In-charge of Space Application Centre, ISRO and sucessfully comp leted SITE programme, faculty member of Ranchi University, recipient of Distinguish Service Award of SAC, ISRO, and Fellowship of UGC etc. He had been to UK, USA, France, Yugoslavia, China, Italy, Canada etc., to deliver lecture and Chair the Scientific Centre, associated with Current Anthropology, Indian Anthropology etc. About eight scholars have done PhD under his supervision.
