But, with the gradual span of time, the population increased with an alarming rate and disturbed the man land ration, resulted in widespread destruction of forests and degradation of ecosystem. The present attempt on social forestry and people deals with the people's participation in forestry system. Further, it takes the increasing distress of environmental degradation of land and people and wide destruction of forests in the recent past. Attention is drawn on changing ecosystem, declining production and increasing wastelands etc. The work provides some solution to the problems in the rural areas.
