A football fanatic, right from his childhood days, Ankit Rathi did his schooling from D.A.V. Public School, Faridabad. Not only is Ankit a great football player, he has been equally brilliant in his academics, always standing in front amongst the toppers of school. Clearing one of the toughest entrance exams in India - IIT JEE - in his first attempt vouches for his brilliance. He has just completed his final year of Bachelor of Technology in Petroleum Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad which is one of the most prestigious institutions of the country. At the age of 11, he started playing football, and in his very first tournament which boasted some of the very senior players of the town, won the best player of the District Faridabad award. Then his love for football grew deeper and deeper. During the ISM days, he was the best player of his college and was often awarded the best player of the tournament. He also has keen interest in dancing. Besides, he loves to sketch vignettes while sitting on the last bench during lectures.A scholar, a dancer, a footballer, and now an author, he calls himself 'Author By Chance', since this is his first published work. Ankit's fascination for football encouraged him to pen down his feelings on paper. This novel is an endeavour to flash some light on this neglected game in India.
